THE CASE:
Pannon RTV is a local television and radio media. This was our very first project where we used the Thunder distribution (D8).
Development process was easy and without much of a hassle. This is a standard media portal with, of course news, galleries, zodiac, recipes, television schedule program...
THE CHALLENGE:
The old site was in Wordpress with outdated design and logic. There is no agency in our city which can support maintenance of that WP site.
We proposed Drupal and Thunder, rethinking of UX and UI, and dedicated Drupal support after lunching. Those were the key points for winning the project.
If there is any new request from Pannon RTV team we discuss it, plan it and do the implementation.
Main goal was to provide the rich local media experience for Hungarian population. They are getting news from around the world, from our country and from our local community, in the world style concept.
THE SOLUTION:
Why Thunder was chosen
Our company visited Drupal Business Days Frankfurt this year. There was presentation of Burda media about Thunder. Right about that time we started negotiating for the Pannon RTV project. We liked what we saw in Thunder presentation and of course this is D8 distribution.
Prepared distribution for this kind of media save us a lot of time in the development.

Why these modules/theme/distribution were chosen:
- Paragraph module is used because of easy formatting and fast learning curve for journalist whom don't have a lot of technical knowledge.
- Focal point is great for mugshots of cover (teaser) images. You select what part of image must be seen and in any thumbnail dimension, your focal point will be visible.
- CKEditor (text formatting)
THE RESULT:
We made a section for ads, podcasts, live streaming, and for many of those we used the Paragraph module.
Right after the official launching we started preparation for V2. Main purpose of the V2 will be to help journalist to put fresh news faster online. For example we want to implement module for automatic picture meta data insertion, etc.
